WTF!?! Transgender Wars:Stephen Beatty -VS- Chaz Bono??

CLICK HERE TO FOLLOW ME ON TWITTER!

TRANSMEN AT WAR???? Warren Beatty's transgender son brands Cher’s Transgender son Chaz Bono a misogynist ???
Well what’s going on here? Chaz Bono received dig after dig during his performance on Dancing With The Stars.
Now Cher's superstar son has been criticised from some unlikely quarters after Warren Beatty and Annette Bening's transgender son blasted Chaz as a misogynist.
Stephen, 19, born Kathlyn, has hit out at the 42-year-old, who underwent female-to-male gender transition between 2008 and 2010.
Writing on his blog Super Mattachine, Stephen took issue with Chaz's view that transgender people have effectively been born with a 'birth defect' - something Bono said in an interview with the New York Times.

Chaz described being transgender as effectively having a 'mismatched' brain and body, akin to a 'birth defect like a cleft palate'.
But Stephen fiercely disagrees: 'I do not have a birth defect. If you feel like you have a birth defect, fine. That’s how you feel. Go feel that,' he wrote on his blog.
He went on: 'Do not put it onto me. Do not define me that way, and do not define other trans people that way unless they claim that label.'

Stephen continued, by branding Chaz a misogynist and saying that he does no represent the views of the transgender community.
'[Chaz] has appointed himself as the representative of a group of people who are not all like him.
'He has said misogynistic... things about gender. I take particular issue with his comments on trans embodiment and on women.'
Stephen concluded: 'Chaz is a misogynist. He is a trans man who seems to believe that his female-assignedness and his female socialisation makes him immune from being a misogynist, and he is manifestly wrong.
'This man doesn’t represent our community... The next time you hear Chaz’s name brought up in a conversation about trans issues, point out the things he’s said about surgery, ‘birth defects,’ and women.
'Because I don’t want a single person thinking this guy is the best of us.'
Stephen describes himself as 'a gay trans man for whom both identities are equally important, a white anti-racist, a feminist, and a poet.'

His father, the famous actor Warren, also dated Chaz's mother Cher back in 1962. Beatty and wife Bening, who married in 1992, have four children together.

This is Truly Ridiculous!!!

Cyndi Lauper: LGBTQ Advocate helping homeless LGBT youth!

She's so FABULOUSLY UNUSUAL: Cyndi Lauper on helping homeless LGBT youth: “My commitment to doing what I can is just beginning”
http://sdgln.com/files/give_a_damn-5235-5418.jpg
Cyndi Lauper is a tremendous talent who always gives 150 percent in her concerts.

But Cyndi is so much more than a big music star, she is a woman who gives a damn about the LGBT community and has committed herself to helping out the youth who have been made homeless by cold-hearted parents who can’t deal.

“As a mother, I could never imagine throwing my kid away for any reason, let alone over something like their sexual orientation or gender identity,” Lauper wrote in a Huffington Post column this week. “It would be like ripping out a piece of my very own soul. For far too long, dogma and fear have torn apart too many families. It is a time when the heart must lead the way when your child shares this personal and life-changing moment with you.”
Cyndi points out that 20-40 percent of homeless youth identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender while only 3-5 percent of the general population does the same.

She has this advice for parents: “If you are a parent and you have a child who is gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or just questioning, or whom you think might be, the most important thing you can do is let them know that you love them first and foremost. Do not let fear and long-held beliefs interfere with the most important relationship you will have in your life. Lead with your heart and with the love that you have for your child. Just a little bit of acceptance can make a huge difference, and that little bit will grow over time.”
Cyndi has joined with the West End Intergenerational Residence in New York City to open the True Colors Residence in Harlem. It is the first permanent housing facility in New York state specifically for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender youth ages 18 to 24. This low-income housing building will provide 30 young people with a permanent roof over their heads and supportive services as they go after the future they have been dreaming about and deserve.

She also started the Give a Damn Campaign last year in part to educate straight people about this issue and to help gay and transgender people use the information to spread the message.

Thanks Cyndi for all you do!

In Memoriam:Sir FRANK KAMENY (Sunrise May 21, 1925-Sunset October 11, 2011)

Sir FRANK KAMENY (Sunrise May 21, 1925-Sunset October 11, 2011) Iconic Gay Civil Rights Pioneer Dies

An American hero has passed, and my first intimation of the heroism and the loss was the obituary.
Gay rights pioneer Franklin E. Kameny died of apparent natural causes at age 86 yesterday. And when I say “pioneer,” I really mean it. The Stonewall Riots, generally thought of as the launching pad of the modern gay rights movement, happened in 1969; Kameny was already fighting for the rights of gay Americans a decade earlier.
Oddly enough, he happens to have died on National Coming Out Day, a day that surely would not have been marked were it not for the work of courageous leaders like Kameny (indeed, Stonewall wouldn’t have happened if trailblazers like Kameny hadn’t already started blazing the trail).

From the obituary in The Washington Blade:
Born and raised in New York City, Kameny served in combat as an Army soldier in World War II in Europe. After the war, Kameny obtained a doctorate degree in astronomy from Harvard University.
He went on to work as an astronomer for the U.S. Army Map Service in the 1950s and was fired after authorities discovered he was gay. He contested the firing and appealed his case to the U.S. Supreme Court, becoming the first known gay person to file a gay-related case before the high court. The Supreme Court upheld a lower court ruling against Kameny and declined to hear the case, but Kameny’s decision to appeal the case through the court system motivated him to become a lifelong advocate on behalf of LGBT equality.
Tammy Baldwin and Frank Kameny - Obama Extends Benefits To Same Sex Partners Of Federal Employees
Joe Solmonese, president of the Human Rights Campaign, said Kameny “led an extraordinary life marked by heroic activism that set a path for the modern LGBT civil rights movement.”
“From his early days fighting institutionalized discrimination in the federal workforce, Dr. Kameny taught us all that ‘Gay is Good,’” Solmonese said. “As we say goodbye to this trailblazer on National Coming Out Day, we remember the remarkable power we all have to change the world by living our lives like Frank — openly, honestly and authentically.”

Chuck Wolfe, CEO of the Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund, said Kameny’s death marked the “loss of a hero and a founding father of the fight to end discrimination against LGBT people.”

“Dr. Kameny stood up for this community when doing so was considered unthinkable and even shocking, and he continued to do so throughout his life,” Wolfe said. “He spoke with a clear voice and firm conviction about the humanity and dignity of people who were gay, long before it was safe for him to do so. All of us who today endeavor to complete the work he began a half century ago are indebted to Dr. Kameny and his remarkable bravery and commitment.”
I would argue that all Americans are indebted to Dr. Kameny. My country is a better place for harboring less bigotry, my children — no matter their sexuality — are coming of age in a place of greater compassion and acceptance because of his work. I am grateful to him, and so glad to have learned of his courage and leadership. I hope his passing was easy, and that those who loved him know comfort and peace today.
This song is so befitting for Dr Kamney: Whiteny Houston "You Were Loved"

May his memory be for a blessing.

Did Queen Latifah dump her girlfriend of 8 years for some jumpoff?

Did Queen Latifah dump her girlfriend of 8 years for some jumpoff?
66685pcn_celebtennis03
*The above photo is from the US Open, just a few weeks ago. The woman beside Latifah is allegedly named Eboni Nichols.
By most accounts, Queen Latifah was in a very solid, stable relationship with a personal trainer named Jeanette Jenkins. In the past few years, Latifah and Jeanette were even photographed together with more frequency, and there were even reports that Latifah and Jeanette wanted to start a family together. Last year, the two of them even went to Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz’s wedding, the paparazzi even got photos of Latifah and Jeanette frolicking on a yacht. Like this:
bg1
So… sad news. It seems like Latifah and Jeanette have called it quits after eight years together. Worse news: Latifah might have lined up her jumpoff before she and Jeanette were really over. The jumpoff lady is named Eboni Nichols, and Eboni and Latifah have had a close friendship for a while now. She might have been the unidentified woman in last year’s suspicious photos of Latifah in Barcelona. Here’s more from the Enquirer:

After an eight-year relationship, Queen Latifah has split with her lover and is stepping out with her choreographer, say sources. Eboni Nichols is dancing her way into Queen Latifah’s life on the heels of Latifah’s breakup with longtime galpal Jeanette Jenkins.

“Latifah and Jeanette had lots of problems,” said an insider. “Their arguments were tearing them apart. But it was the Queen’s long-time friendship and professional relationship with Eboni that eventually drove a wedge between her and Jeanette. Even though they’ve broken up and gotten back together before, this time it definitely seems like the end.”

Latifah, 41, and Eboni, 33, have been friends since 2009, when Eboni choreographed a guest appearance by the Queen on Dancing with the Stars. Even though Latifah and Jeanette were arm-in-arm at the 2010 BET Awards and the two spent time together that summer on a yacht off the Italian coast, weeks later the Queen and Eboni were together, enjoying a trip to Barcelona, Spain.
Latifah always insisted that she and Eboni were “just friends” - but personal trainer Jeanette was not buying it.

“Needless to say, Jeanette was not very happy about their relationship,” said the source. “And she let Latifah know about it in no uncertain terms.”
Jeanette and Latifah are remaining cordial in the wake of their recent breakup, say sources: “Their relationship had been rocky for a while, and during one of their ‘breaks’ Latifah spent time with Eboni… still, it was hard for her to end her relationship with Jeanette.”
[From The Enquirer, print edition]

It sounds like Latifah was stepping out whenever she and Jeanette were having problems, but I’ll also buy that Latifah and Jeanette were having problems beyond “another woman”. There’s always more to the story. Still, if this is even partially true, I feel like Latifah mistreated Jeanette to a certain extent. Sad.
Here’s a recent photo of Jeanette from a few weeks ago… she’s cute.

Bullying Victim Jamey Rodemeyer is remembered by Family & Friends!

Family and Friends come together to remember Jamey Rodemeyer. Also GaGa dedicated a song to him!
Tragic: Jamey Rodemeyer, 14, had blogged about being suicidal after classmates incessantly taunted him for being gay
Lady Gaga has sung a tribute to a gay 14-year-old boy who sent her a thank you message before taking his own life after he became the target of bullying.
The singer dedicated her iHeartRadio Music Festival performance of 'Hair' to Jamey Rodemeyer, from Buffalo, New York, after he was yesterday buried by his family.
'I just wanted to take a moment because we lost a little monster this week,' said Lady Gaga in Las Vegas.
Tribute: Lady Gaga dedicated her performance to the tragic teenager
'Jamey, I know you're looking down on use and you're not a victim, you're a lesson to all of us.'
The 14-year-old was a big fan of the singer and sent her a message on Twitter saying 'Bye mother monster, thank you for all you have done, paws up forever,' before he killed himself.
More than 500 people gathered yesterday for the funeral of the teenager who was bullied both at school and online.
Complete strangers were among the mourners who turned out yesterday to support the Rodemeyer family at the service at Saints Peter and Paul Church.

Fellow students drove past the church with trucks and buses covered with signs showing messages of tolerance.
Jamey Rodemeyer regularly posted about being bullied at school and how people would launch gay insults at him.

But what was worse for Jamey, was that when he wrote of his pain and frustrations and cried for help in his blog postings, students at his school started to bully him online.
About 12 months ago on his Formspring account - which permits anonymous posts - other students started making gay references towards him.

'JAMIE IS STUPID, GAY, FAT ANND UGLY. HE MUST DIE!' read one post.

Another read: 'I wouldn't care if you died. No one would. So just do it :) It would make everyone WAY more happier!'

In memory: Friends of the teenager drove past the church with messages of tolerance
On September 9, Jamey wrote on his Tumblr site: 'I always say how bullied I am, but no one listens. What do I have to do so people will listen to me?'
The day before he wrote: 'No one in my school cares about preventing suicide, while you're the ones calling me [gay slur] and tearing me down.'
He put up a separate post that day letting everyone know it was National Suicide Prevention Week.
But still no one listened.
Last Saturday night he posted a lyric from Lady Gaga's song The Queen on his Facebook page which said: 'Don't forget me when I come crying to heaven's door.'
Warning: Jamey's Facebook post citing Lady Gaga lyrics
On 1.30am on Sunday morning, he left two final messages on one of his blogs saying he was looking forward to seeing his great grandmother, who recently died, and one as a tribute to Lady Gaga, thanking her.
His mother Tracy Rodemeyer , told Buffalo News: 'He touched so many hearts, so many people. I didn't realize how many people he touched.
In memory: Friends of the teenager drove past the church with messages of tolerance
'He was the sweetest, kindest kid you'd ever know. He would give all his heart to you before he gave any to himself.'

She said that her son had been questioning his sexuality over the last year and that his fellow students picked up on it and used it to taunt and bully him.
Friends of the 14-year-old reported the message posts to the school guidance counsellors, she said, but by then it may already have been too late.
'He was totally against bullying. He has had issues since fifth grade. He had suicidal tendencies back then,' she told Buffalo News.
She said she tried to talk to him on numerous occasions and asked him to talk to her about what was wrong, but he assured her that he was OK.
The weekend before he died, his family went to a camping spot they would frequently go to and his mother said he seemed really happy.

Mrs Rodemeyer said: 'He used to cry about the taunts from his peers but they didn't seem to phase him this time. Lately, he's been blowing them off, or at least we thought he was.'
Gathering: Jamey Rodemeyer blogged about being suicidal before committing suicide
Jamey was a new student at Williamsville North High School and the student known to have committed suicide there since 2010. Joe Chearmonte, a junior honor student, died in February of last year.
Fan: Jamey loved Lady Gaga and left a thank you to her as one of his last postings before he died

Information regarding The Memorial Services for The Legendary Paris Dupree

Greetings and Salutations All,

As you all know we lost The Mother of my house Paris Dupree nearly a year ago  but recently we ALL found this information out to our shock, dismay and distressing amazement. It is only out of respect that when your Mother passes on you remember her in the most respectful way possible. That said Myself (Efrem), Michael, Terry, Michael Grant, Kerry, Haywood, who are the remaining living members of the house have decided to Memorialize her in honor of her passing.
The original date was suppose to be September 30, 2011 with a consortium of folks involved. Unfortunately we ran into issues where folks wanted to take over and make this more than what it is meant to be. It is NOT A BALL it is a MEMORIAL.
The Gay Community knows her as PARIS DUPREE and in her honor The House of Dupree and those in the LGBTQ Community will remember her as such.
That said the date for THE MEMORIAL SERVICE of The Legendary Icon Paris Dupree birth name (Robert Issac Finley Jr) given by The House of Dupree will be on
October 7, 2011 at 7PM at The LGBT Community Center 208 West 13th Street NY, NY 10013.

This is NOT a battle between ICONIC legends and other ICONIC Legends as some are now making this out to be unfortunately. It is a FAMILY AFFAIR and her house children want to remember her in a special way!

And you're all invited as you all are FAMILY TO MISS PARIS!
SHE IS FOREVER A LEGEND!
We're hoping that this clears up any confusion that may be out there. There is another Memorial and we encourage you all to attend both if you can!
We come in LOVE & PEACE and not in HATE, nor CONFUSION! We appreciate the many folks who have reached out to us with their condolences. As this is still a sore spot in our hearts and still has not really processed that she is no longer on this earth with us. But we do know and understand that Earth hath no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal! And as time goes on it will get better by and by!
Teamwork: Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: 10 If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! ….Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (NIV)

WE LOVE YOU AND HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL ON OCTOBER 7, 2011

WITH LOVE, HONOR, PEACE, AND BLESSINGS
THE HOUSE OF DUPREE!

Tonex ditches Gospel & Goes Pop also is an Activist for the LGBT Comm?

And the Black church will EXPLODE! in 5..4..3..2..1! Tonex Divorces Gospel and Goes Gay Pop Activist?
Seen Tonex lately? You’ll have more luck finding him as B Slade, waving a rainbow striped flag at a Gay Pride parade than testifying in church circles.
Crossing over in more ways than one, the entertainer has dead bolted his life as a minister and re-emerged as a recording activist with “Diesel,” his first pop/soul release (which he says is inspired by the “hoodspah” that enabled strong Black men to do what they like).
Tonex was to Gospel music, what Lady Gaga is to pop — an ingeniously talented, flamboyant provocateur. In 2009 he confirmed suspicions about his sexually ambiguous image, coming out on a nationally aired TV show. In so doing perhaps he became the first well-known openly gay gospel artist and like Gaga believes homosexuals are “born this way.”
ESSENCE.com talks to the artist about his more-than-unconventional stance on sexuality and how this newly  embraced freedom has influenced his new persona:
ESSENCE.com: Is your gospel career a thing of the past?
B SLADE: When it comes to the genre, yes. Unfortunately I was pigeonholed into that genre even though I felt that gospel music could very much so cross over to mainstream. Formidably and exclusively, yeah that part is over. There will always be a spiritual core to what I do and you will still feel that light and that love in my pop and soul music.
ESSENCE.com: What about your fans?
B SLADE: Some crossed over with me. I think because they connect with the truth and even if they don’t understand everything. That’s one thing they can always bank on with me is I’m going to present truth and courage and objectivity.
ESSENCE.com: How is B Slade different from Tonex?
B SLADE: B Slade is a recording activist. Tonex was more of just a recording artist. I think that the people’s interests were at both brands heart, but the represent the culmination of raw art, audacity and hard work. This brand represents the essence of the Black Sheep, the person who pretty much has all the odds against him, that phoenix rising aura about them.
ESSENCE.com: Since you’ve become openly gay, have you experienced more or less freedom?
B SLADE: I will say more. I think the interesting notion is that people kind of knew. It’s just as long as it wasn’t confirmed I was deemed okay. It’s just when you bring confirmation to some things, then it becomes controversial. It’s interesting to see people coming up to me and apologizing for the way the handles the whole coming out process, how they turned their backs or initially reacted.
ESSENCE.com: You’ve been married before as a straight man, would you marry again as a gay man?B SLADE: I wouldn’t say it’s not an option. I think that love is for everyone

“Diesel,” by B Slade, the artist formerly known as Tonex is in stores now. I will say this at least he has come to terms with who he is. Now I know as far as the church is concerned everything not godly is a demon. But hey I feel like this to thine ownself be true!...

What are your thoughts? Speak on it!

Meet Eddie Long's latest Accuser..AND WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE WHO!

NOW DAMN IT EDDIE LONG I’M TIRED…YOU MEAN TO TELL ME YOU ARE IN THIS DEEP ON THE DOWN LOW???....
Everybody ,Meet Centinio Kemp

A 5th accuser in the Bishop Eddie Long sexual misconduct settlement has been revealed as Centino Kemp. He is a 22-year-old musician and Atlanta resident who sports a tattoo on his arm about his "relationship" with the New Birth pastor. See the tattoo and get the deets inside....
I told you earlier that Bishop Eddie Long had reached a settlement with four accusers in his sexual misconduct case, but now a 5th accuser has been revealed.

VIDEO:

The FOX 5 team in Atlanta has revealed that 22-year-old musician Centino Kemp, who was not named in the original lawsuit, was a big factor in the settlement. In fact, sources speculate that Centino helped the plantiffs reach a settlement because Bishop Eddie Long was "VERY" uncomfortable with Centino's presence anywhere near this case. But why?
Well, from the outset, Centino is....different...from the other plantiffs we've seen. Let's just say he is far removed from hypermasculine hip-hop imagery. And by that we mean he's not afriad to rock a perm or lipstick.
When Fox 5 approached Centino, he would not offer up much by way of commentary about Bishop Eddie Long...but his music and tattoo speak for themselves. He sports a tattoo on his arm that reads "

"Eddie Long. Never a Mistake, Always a Lesson"

Hmmm. Wonder if he was inspired by Rihanna's "Never A Failure. Always A Lesson" tatt. And according to FOX 5, most of Centino's music is from the perspective of a scorned lover and does address his stance on the church...which isn't always positive.
One source said Centino, who is from the Bahamas, met the bishop while he was a college student in Florida, but his apperance in the lawsuit threw most for a loop.

OKAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH....THIS IS WHY AFRICAN AMERICANS ARE SCARED TO BE WHO THEY ARE BECAUSE OF FOLKS LIKE THIS!!!!! A DAMN SHAME!!!

Arkansas School Board Member Clint McCance Wants 'Fags' Dead

THE NERVE! Arkansas School Board Member Clint McCance Wants 'Fags' Dead

Midland School District is located about 85 miles northeast of Little Rock, Arkansas.
Midland School Board Member Clint McCance's Facebook page really speaks for itself.
Says McCance in a status update responding to last week's Spirit Day in memory of gay and lesbian youth who killed themselves over bullying:
Mccance1

“Seriously they want me to wear purple because five queers committed suicide. The only way im wearin it for them is if they all commit suicide. I cant believe the people of this world have gotten this stupid. We are honoring the fact that they sinned and killed therselves because of their sin. REALLY PEOPLE.”
McCance's status updates were brought to the attention of HRC Backstory by R. Anthony Turner, a 1998 graduate of Midland High School.

Mccance2

Writes McCance in response to commenters on his page:
“No because being a fag doesnt give you the right to ruin the rest of our lives. If you get easily offended by being called a fag then dont tell anyone you are a fag. Keep that shit to yourself. I dont care how people decide to live their lives. They dont bother me if they keep it to thereselves. It pisses me off though that we make a special purple fag day for them. I like that fags cant procreate. I also enjoy the fact that they often give each other aids and die. If you arent against it, you might as well be for it.” He further writes, “I would disown my kids if they were gay. They will not be welcome at my home or in my vicinity. I will absolutely run them off. Of course my kids will know better. My kids will have solid christian beliefs. See it infects everyone.”
The Advocate made attempts to contact school officials: "The superintendent of the Midland school district was unavailable and a phone call to the principal of the Midland High School was not returned. There was no response to e-mails to the superintendent and to the secretary of the Midland school board."
A Facebook page has been set up calling for McCance's removal.
