FANTASIA GIVES BIRTH!
*Fantasia had her baby on Monday afternoon.
According to People, “American Idol” season 3 winner Fantasia Barrino gave birth to a baby boy, Dallas Xavier Barrino.

Baby Dallas came into the world at Presbyterian hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina at 7 lbs., 9 oz. and 21 inches long. He wasn’t expected to arrive until Dec. 29. He joins big sister Zion, 10.
“I feel so blessed that my son Dallas Xavier was born healthy, and is a wonderful new addition to our family,” Fantasia, 27, told People. “I thank all my fans for their well wishes and continued support.”

Meanwhile, Barrino is still being mum about the baby’s daddy, but all signs point to the still married Antwaun Cook, who the singer is romantically linked to.
So, before I forget, congrats on your new bundle of joy Fantasia!.....
You'll need it because Paula is gonna get you. Just ask her son!

UH-OH: The "Mahalia!" Production Company Says Sorry To Fantasia
I told you earlier that there was a lot of drama surrounding the "casting" of Fantasia Barrino as Mahalia Jackson in an upcoming film, and now the production company behind the film has come to the defense of the singer.
In a statement issued today, the company clears up the rumors about the movie's financing and how the Jackson family feels about Fantasia.
Here's their statement:
Double Dutch Productions, LLC. (DDP) extends apologies to Fantasia Barrino for the inaccurate, non-factual and disparaging statements of Ms. Barrino’s reputation, character and image, that was stated in the October 7, 2011 article of the NY Post’s Page Six column.

The comments made in the article by financing broker Adrian Taylor, were not authorized, approved or condoned by the producers of DDP. The information and comments expressed within this article regarding the project were solely those of Adrian Taylor. Taylor is not an employee of this production company nor an active participant of any facet in the producing of this film. Taylor has been reprimanded on two previous occasions for speaking to the press about this project. He was told that he was not a spokesperson nor a producer of the film, nor involved in the production or publicity of the film. Mr. Taylor’s credit of Executive Producer will be valid only pending a final contract for financing. DDP and its producers disavow any statements or comments attributed to this article that were inappropriately made. Mr. Taylor does not speak for this company or the production of this film.
The Mahalia Jackson family has not made any negative comments non-what-so ever about Ms. Barrino and her participation in this film project.

We at DDP want to assure Ms. Barrino that in no way are we responsible for the information that was included in the article. ANY FUTURE COMMENTS FROM OUTSIDE PARTIES REGARDING THIS FILM THAT ARE NOT DIRECTLY PROVIDED BY DDP OR ITS PUBLICIST WILL BE DEEMED AS VOID, BOGUS AND INACCURATE.

Well.....I guess that clears up things. And from the tone of the letter, seems as though they are indeed still trying to get their money right like Fanny told Wendy Williams.

MISS FANTASIA HAS WORDS FOR YOU HATERS!
Fantasia Sets The Record Straight!!!

Fantasia called into Wendy Williams' daytime chat fest (pic above is from a different previous episode) to clear up recent rumors in the press.
First, she revealed that she's still on bed-rest and confirmed that she's due to give birth to a baby boy on December 29th.
Then she said she almost went into labor when she heard the shocking news that the "Mahalia" pic might not get made and it might somehow be her fault.
As far as the movie goes, Fanny said she was told in January that several investors had backed out and the producers were trying to get the financing together. She also added that no contracts were signed and that a date for production was never set.
HMMMMM...Interesting.
So where does the movie stand?
Fanny said she hasn't heard from producers....she learned about its status through the press.
But what we REALLY want to know is about her pregnancy. When Wendy asked if she was still with Antwaun Cook (and if he was still married), she went silent on the phone. But she told Wendy she would come by to discuss the situation after she gave birth.

Sigh.....ok Fantasia.  Good luck with this bedrest though.  That can't be fun at all.

Fantasia may not be portraying Mahalia Jackson after all

Fantasia may lose 'Mahalia' movie Role
Fantasia Barrino's personal life could cost her a job playing Mahalia Jackson in the gospel singer's biopic.
There's word that the estate of Mahalia Jackson is not happy with Fantasia because she's gotten pregnant by a married man, Antwaun Cook.
“The family thinks if Fantasia plays the role, it’s going to sully the name of Mahalia,” executive producer Adrian Taylor told the New York Post. “They think she’s got the wrong image, having a child out of wedlock.”

Reportedly, producers for Mahalia! also have a bone to pick with Fannie, as she neglected to inform them of her pregnancy until she was four months along.

“She [initially] claimed that she was putting on weight for the role,”
a source close to the film said. When speculation of Fantasia's pregnancy first arose, the singer's camp denied the rumors by saying she was packing on pounds for the film. Now it seems the studio was fed the same line.
WHAT A DUMMY!
