Amy Winehouse's Dad And Kelly Osbourne Against Jean Paul Gaultier !

Designer Jean Paul Gaultier paid homage to singer Amy Winehouse's unique style at his "Paris Haute Couture Runway Show" earlier this week.

But Amy's father, Mitch Winehouse, is quite frustrated that his daughter's image is being exploited to sell clothes.
"We don't support the Jean Paul Galtier [sic] collection. It's in bad taste," the elder Winehouse tweeted.

"The family was upset to see those pictures. They were a total shock," he also told The Sun. "We're still grieving for her loss, and we've had a difficult week with the six-month anniversary of Amy's death."

Amy's dad felt it was inappropriate to try and cash in on his daughter's legacy. "To see her image lifted wholesale to sell clothes was a wrench we were not expecting or consulted on…We're proud of her influence on fashion but find black veils on models, smoking cigarettes with a barbershop quartet singing her music in bad taste."

Mitch said the looks in Gaultier's show portrayed "a view of Amy when she was not at her best, and [glamorized] some of the more upsetting times in her life."

Kelly Osbourne, a close friend of the "Rehab" singer, agreed. "Although @JPGaultier was paying homage to my friend & icon to the world, I found it to be lucratively selfish and distasteful," she tweeted. "Exploitation=evil."

Amy Winehouse As Michael Jackson!!!

While I was  surfing on the web, I found this video on You Tube.
Unbeleivable! I didn't know that Amy Winehouse was a
Michael Jackson fan!
I love the fact that she tried to sing something completely different from what she usually sang. Nice try indeed!

Many people didn't like at all Amy's effort to sing "Beat it"
by Michael Jackson, judging by the negative comments that got on You Tube.

In my opinion many people generally don't like it when very famous singers attempt to sing songs by other popular singers as well...They become really mean! I beleive that happens because they are very get used to the original version.

What do you think of Amy's "Beat it"version??

Before you judge, please be open minded & if you are not familiar with her version, give it a second listening. Maybe, you'll change your mind...Who knows??

Feel free to comment & share this blog post, if you find it interesting!

New song by Amy Winehouse!!!

Amy WinehouseNews arrived earlier this week that Lioness: Hidden Treasures, a posthumous collection of 12 songs from Amy Winehouse, would arrive just in time for the holidays, on December 5.

Mere days later, a song from the album called “Like Smoke” has premiered. It features the late British artist soulfully singing (with vocals recorded in 2008) alongside her friend, New York rapper Nas (with rhymes recorded this year).  We rounded up some thoughts on the retro-sounding tune by online critics, which you can read below.

Prefix calls the song “a chills-inducing burner featuring one of Winehouse’s favorite artists, Nas.”

Says MTV, “In fact, while Winehouse sings the five-line hook on the tune, it is Nas who does the heavy lifting, courtesy of two dense verses packed with references to his personal travails, from love and marriage to taxes, the recession and, way before it was a thing, a line about a tall freak who ‘wouldn’t protest with me at Wall Street’.”

Amy Winehouse Nas:: Spinner points out the following: “Though Winehouse’s vocals were recorded several years ago, Nas’ verses were recent additions, as he eulogizes the songstress and references Occupy Wall Street.”

Pop Crush raves, “Amy’s vocals still sound soulful as ever, especially on the opening verse…” Spin brands the song as “unsurprisingly jazzy, laid-back retro-soul, rotating between Winehouse’s appropriately smoky chorus of hard-hearted regret and Nas’s slightly heavy-handed rhymes.”

theheatison: Only God knows how much I miss you. Those tears will never dry without you Amy.
The Smoking Section ponders, “Sure, theoretically, this is still Amy Winehouse’s track. It features her vocals, laid down back in 2008, and it’s set to be on her upcoming posthumous album. But really, it’s part of the run that Nas has been on over the past few months… I just wonder what Amy Winehouse’s crossover audience’ll think of this one – there’ll be more than a few middle-aged white guys bobbing their heads in the middle of Starbucks when Lioness: Hidden Treasures drops.”

VH1 notes the following: “Listening to ‘Like Smoke’ is giving us chills, and a heavy sense of loss, but we can’t help but wonder if we’d take the same sentiment from the song if it had have been released during Amy’s lifetime.”

Grantland gives this nod of approval: “Posthumous albums, especially rush-released ones, can be a real drag. But nothing to complain about so far here.”
  jovito: r.i.p. love

You can hear the song below. Feel free to comment.
