Riding the Wave in 2012

I will elaborate because I have heard many people say "oh, I'm a positive person for sure!" and then minutes later I hear them complaining about a person or criticising someone or something. That in itself should be looked at and examined because complaining and criticising are not positive vibrations. They are (let me repeat) not positive and they will not lead you to happiness. They will destroy your happiness and they will keep you stuck in your funk.
Unfortunately, this year will also create a kind of divide mainly because whatever we feel and think will become stronger, it will be underlined, accentuated and manifested exactly as you have felt it and thought it. So, think well, think good and think positive no matter what happens. See the good in everything. Stay focused on your heart, maintain human compassion, release anger and most importantly, release the past. The past only serves as a reminder of where we've been. The future only serves as a reminder of where we are in the present. So be present and be positive and that's the message for riding the wave in 2012!
I am personally riding very high since 2012 turned the corner. The turn out at the Benvenuto 2012 yoga lesson on December 29th was exceptional and every single person present in the room wanted to ride that high wave. And what amazing waves we were graced with that evening. The Rainbow Light came to grace us with amazing veils of colors and lifted up so much pain and sadness from the hearts of each one of us that by the end of the three and a half hour class we were surfing on pure happiness. Looking into the eyes of happy people is the best feeling. We were united as One Big Happy Spiritual Family! Being a yoga teacher is by far, the best "job" I have ever had.
A few months ago I moved to the countryside where my boyfriend and I will be opening up a Yoga Creative Center. It is so quiet and peaceful here, a dream come true for me. Waking up with the sound of birds chirping and going to bed with a blanket of stars above me and a moon that is so close you can touch it, is well, amazing. Inner and outer silence is peace. My three cats are also happier here and at times we are five or six cats because three others come by for lunch every now and then.
I love cats. They have always had a special place in my heart since I first begged my father to let Minou in the house when I was 12. It was a very cold winter in Montreal, Canada and this little kitten kept crying to be let in. I finally convinced my dad to let Minou in and since then I have had many cats I have loved. So, this year I began a new project called Mussi di Alghero. One night I was walking around town with my friends laughing about how much I love cats and cushions and have many of both. So I decided to make cushions and sell them to raise money for homeless kitties in Alghero. A project created from the heart!
And here's another. This month I will be teaching a course that I have been thinking about since last June when I presented my book, "Ode to Elliott" here in Alghero. The course is about healing through writing your own autobiography. Writing the truth, your truth, writing from the heart and not from the head, writing your story because your story is important not only for your own self but for the whole world to know and to hear. The world heals when each of us heals ourselves and this is what the course is about. And it is beginning in 2012.
