Ed Markey and Joe Barton complain in letter to FTC.

Facebook could be investigated by the U.S. government over claims it is tracking users after they have logged out of the social networking site.
Reps Massachusetts Democrat Ed Markey and Texas Republican Joe Barton have both complained to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
Their letter follows privacy fears over tracking cookies sparked by Australian blogger Nik Cubrilovic, who prompted a Facebook investigation.
Reps Markey and Barton have both been vigorously pursuing Facebook on privacy issues, reported the Los Angeles Times.

‘When users log out of Facebook, they are under the expectation that Facebook is no longer monitoring their activities,’ they wrote.
‘We believe this impression should be the reality.’
Facebook insisted it has addressed Mr Cubrilovic’s concerns about cookies and never monitors the browsing habits of users.

‘We value the security community and their willingness to provide feedback on issues that they identify,’ a Facebook spokesman said.

The issues arose when users had logged out of Facebook but visited websites featuring the ‘Like’ button, reported Politico.
‘I want to make it clear that there was no security or privacy breach,' Facebook engineer W. Gregg Stefancik told the Los Angeles Times.
‘Facebook did not store or use any information it should not have.’

Mr Stefancik said three cookies on some users’ computers included ‘unique identifiers’ when they had logged out of the social networking site.

But he added that the identifiers for logged out users were not stored by Facebook and could therefore not have been used for tracking.
‘In addition, we fixed the cookies so that they won't include unique information in the future when people log out,’ Mr Stefancik wrote.

Privacy group the Electronic Privacy Information Center will also ask the FTC to investigate whether Facebook’s new Ticker and Timeline features increase privacy risks. WERK!!! Sneek Peek at The Avengers!

They are the least known characters in next year's hotly tipped blockbuster contender The Avengers.

But Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow and Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye were front and centre in newly released stills from the film.
Scarlett is playing Russian superspy Natasha Romanoff, who is armed to the teeth with a selection of advanced weaponry.

She appeared in Iron Man 2 as a supporting character, but will be getting equal status with Robert Downey Jr in the new film.
Jeremy Renner's character is even less well known, and only made a brief cameo appearance in this year's blockbuster hit Thor.
But as a token human in a superhero team that includes god of thunder Thor and nuclear powered wrecking machine The Hulk, he will play a key role when he is unleashed.

Despite her status as a Hollywood sex symbol, Scarlett, 26, said told Entertainment Weekly she needed to be reassured she was not being overshadowed by her fellow characters.

She said: 'The other day we were doing this big reveal shot of all the Avengers.
'Thor has got his hammer, Cap’s got his shield, Hawkeye has his bow and arrow, and Hulk is huge.

'Then it pans over to me and I’ve got guns. Iron Man’s like, hovering above all of us, ready to go.
'I was like, ‘Joss [Wheldon]… um… do I look okay holding these guns?’
The director reassured her, saying: 'She’s a total badass. She’s a killing machine.'
Jeremy, who was nominated for an Oscar for his performance in Hurt Locker in 2009, has said he is relishing being in a superhero film, despite taking more heavyweight roles in the past.

But the 40-year-old said he has to approach the role differently than the likes of the practically invulnerable Hulk,.
He said: 'The only sort of thing I cling to is the relationship of past experiences with Scarlett’s character, with them both being human. I can cling to that.'

But since he is the only person who can stop Bruce Banner's alter-ego in the middle of a rampage, it could be argued he is the most important member of the team.
Jeremy said: He’s the only one who can really take down The Hulk with his tranq tip arrows.
'He knows his limitations, but when it comes down to it, there has to be a sense of confidence in any superhero.'

Another shot that was released was of Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr having a discussion on the set of the movie.

The former was dressed up in his Captain America outfit, while the latter looked far more laid back in casual clothes.
One of the most interesting plot strands in the movie according to Chris, 30, will be seeing his character adapt to the modern world after being trapped in ice at the end of the Second World War.

He said: 'It’s just about him trying to come to terms with the modern world.
'You’ve got to imagine, it’s enough of a shock to accept the fact that you’re in a completely different time, but everybody you know is dead, everybody you cared about.
'He was a soldier. Obviously everybody he went to battle with, all of his brothers in arms, they’re all dead. He’s just lonely.

'I think in the beginning it’s a fish out of water scene, and it’s tough. It’s a tough pill for him to swallow.

'Then comes trying to find a balance with the modern world.'

And Robert admitted his initial ideas about how the movie should progress ended up being left by the wayside, despite his steadfast pitch to writer and director Wheldon.

He said: 'Well, I said, ‘I need to be in the opening sequence. I don’t know what you’re thinking, but Tony needs to drive this thing.

'He was like, "Okay, let’s try that." We tried it and it didn’t work, because this is a different sort of thing.
'The story and the idea and the theme is the theme, and everybody is just an arm of the octopus.'
But he joked he tried to rebel against the new direction.
He said: 'But what was I like, as usual, just f—ing aggressive and hurtful. Whatever, the usual.'

2011 BET Awards Line-Up

Every body is anticipating this years 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards. It seems like BET never seems to disappoint when it comes to their major TV productions. They always have great comedic hosts (Mike Epps hilarious self once again), performances, line-ups, and extra surprises down the line.
Speaking of which BET has added a number of high-profile rappers to the lineup of performers during the 2011 BET Hip-Hop Awards taking place in Atlanta this weekend.

Miami rap star Rick Ross, Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa and Chicago’s Lupe Fiasco have all been confirmed to perform at this year’s show.According to reps for BET, the artists will join Wale, Big Sean, Meek Mill and Roscoe Dash as performers during the evening, which will be hosted by comedian Mike Epps.

Also, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Tracee Ellis Ross, Malcolm Jamal-Warner and Wendy Raquel Robinson have been confirmed as presenters.
This year’s event will honor legendary rapper LL Cool J with the “I Am Hip-Hop Icon” award.

The 2011 BET Hip-Hop words will take place today at the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlantic Civic Center.

The Awards show will air on the network on Tuesday (October 11th) at 8:00 PM

Waka Flocka held his first Annual Celebrity Bowling match, attended by hip hop artists, producers and industry execs and supported by two other celebrity foundations and corporate sponsors, was an incredible gift to the community. That is until the community imploded on itself. Shortly after Deb Antney, CEO of Mizay Entertainment (HIS MOM) announced that her company would donate ten homes to single and grandparent headed households, shared the microphone with fellow Philanthropist and entertainment mogul Chris “Ludacris” Bridges and a round of applause was given to her son Waka Flocka for pledging to donate $50 per strike during the evenings festivities, chaos was abound.

But of course you know at these rap events chaos always takes place. To be clear, while during the evening, an artist who had previously been under his helm approached him with malice, words were said and the client was forced to defend himself. The aftermath, though dramatic, left no one seriously injured and saw the majority of the crowd dispersed without incident.

After the madness was over with (Ludacris’ mom) noted that when the craziness began, she asked security “if there was a gun”. When they assured her that there were no weapons involved. She instructed her team to keep on playing and let the security do their jobs But at any rate The Luda Foundation was victorious, beating both Rah Rah’s Village of Hope and Toya Wright’s Visual Beauty with an impressive TEN STRIKES!)”

Seriously, fights happen especially when big celebrities making themselves accessible to their fans. It sucks that this happened but let’s not let it overshadow its purpose. It was and still is about the community.
But big tip to Wacka and crew for doing a good deed. You must give credit when credit is due!

Is Jennifer Lopez is trying to bone Jason Statham and Rodrigo Santoro?

These are some photos of Jennifer Lopez and Jason Statham on the Miami set of Parker, their new movie together. I know, I know. I don’t get it either - how did these two get cast together? Some films, it just feels like the casting director is picking names out of a hat. In any case, it does seem like Jason and Jennifer are getting along on the set. They seem friendly and even a little bit sexy in photos. People Mag even carried this interesting little story:

Jennifer Lopez squeezed in some quality time with 3-year-old daughter Emme in between filming Parker in Palm Beach, Fla. Emme even made a friend in Mom’s costar Jason Statham, who came to the staging area to meet Lopez’s daughter. “[Lopez] was smiling and looked so happy to see her little girl,” a source tells us of the cute mother-daughter moment.

IDRIS: 'I'd love to play 007... but I don't want to be known as 'the Black James Bond'

It's been rumoured for a while now that Idris Elba is set to become the next James Bond.
And the hunky British actor and sometime-singer will excite millions of female fans out there after admitting he would 'definitely consider' the role.
He said the it was 'a very old rumour' that he had been asked to play special agent 007.
But producers might come running when they hear how committed he is to his work.
The 39-year-old, who hails from Hackney, in North London, revealed he'd pull a stunt worthy of the role.

'If Sony decided to call me and said hey, we wanted to do [James Bond], I'd definitely consider it,' he told U.S. radio station NPR.
'I'd not only get in the cab, but I'd take the taxi driver out of the car, hostage, jump out while it was moving, jump onto a pedal bike that was just past the door as I got on it, and then get onto a plane - on the wing - and land on top of Sony Studios, slide through the air conditioning, and land in the office.
But Idris said he hoped fans would look past his race and concentrate on his acting skills.

'My Dad and I were talking about this the other day because he said 'You could do it, would you do it?' I was like 'Yeah, I would do it, but I just don't want to be called the first black James Bond'. Do you understand what I 'm saying?

'The point is, this is a man who's caught between two worlds. And that complex balance he's in, is what made the drama.'
The actor is already busy with his detective series Luther which has just been snapped up for a third series.

He told The Sun: 'I was blown away by the reaction to series two. People really got on board and getting an Emmy nomination for Luther is the icing on the cake.
'We’re looking at returning with some equally great storylines and characters — and hopefully an Emmy award

While making the international press round for her new fragrance Pulse, Beyonce did a candid interview with "Entertainment Tonight Canada."

During the wide ranging interview, she revealed how "hands on" she was with creating the fragrance and how her heightened sense of smell (since her pregnancy) helped her in picking out the right combination of scents for the final product.

In a very candid moment, she also added that since the pregnancy, her nose is like a radar gun and she no longer likes the cologne that Jay-Z wears....and it used to be her favorite!

GURL AGAIN???? Antoine Dodson Arrested AGAIN

Antoine Dodson may have been helping everybody with his viral video that stated the fun line, “Hide yo kids, hide ya wife” but now it looks like he’s going to need some help. The YouTube sensation has gotten into some trouble with the law it appears. Sources say that this week, he was arrested in Alabama when police noticed that his music was a little too loud. Unfortunately, when Dodson’s name was ran, they discovered they had a more legit reason to lock him up. Turns out, Antoine didn’t show up for court back for the drug related charges he occurred back in April. Once the police figured this out, they ditched their original choice of just giving him a noise violation warning and instead locked him up.

Good luck was on Antoine’s side and he was released from jail later that same day on $560 bail. I hope that Antoine stays out of trouble. What do you think of Antoine getting locked up…again?

OOPS!! VH! Sued Over NWA Pictures

VH1 is being sued by a professional photographer for using his pictures in a N.W.A. documentary without permission.

The lawsuit filed by photographer Howard Rosenberg cites VH1, Viacom and Viacom International, as well as Creature Films for copyright infringement in the 2008 VH1 documentary "N.W.A.: The World's Most Dangerous Group."
Courthouse News reports:

Rosenberg says he took pictures of the Los Angeles-based N.W.A., short for Niggaz With Attitude, just after the group released its 1988 album "Straight Outta Compton," which is credited with introducing gangsta rap into mainstream music.
In July 2008, VH1 and Creature Films contacted Rosenberg regarding the use of his pictures in a documentary that would air in October, "N.W.A.: The World's Most Dangerous Group."
Rosenberg claims he told VH1 and Creature Films all licensing for pictures must be done through him, as he holds the copyrights to the pictures and most of them are stored in his personal archives.

Reports also state that Rosenberg could not come to an agreement for the use of the photos. He was asking $450 per image, but was offered $200 per.
The documentary contained at least 27 of Rosenberg's photos.
Rosenberg claims the photos were used in promotional articles, magazines and promotional trailers, along with VH1's Facebook and Myspace pages.

Rosenberg is suing for maximum statutory damages, recovery for actual damages and any profits the defendants gained from his photos.

It has just been announced that Kandi Burruss of ‘Real Housewives Of Atlanta’ has been given the green light to star in her own spin off show entitled, ‘The Kandi Factory’. The show will follow Kandi as she takes two rising talents and molds them into pop star success. Kandi was recently spotted at the launch for her sex toy line with cameras in tow but those cameras may have been for her new reality show and not ‘Real Housewives Of Atlanta’,

‘The Kandi Factory’ will mainly focus on Burruss working with two rising artist and sharing her knowledge on what creates a musical success, which she has identified with the three key factors of having having the look, the perfect song, and a great performance. Although the show will mostly focus on her helping someone else achieve their dreams of musical stardom it may also give more incite into her other business ventures such as her new sex toy line ‘Bedroom Kandi’ and her clothing boutique ‘TAGS’, which is located in Atlanta.
