Below are images from some of the beautiful beaches I visited this past summer in Sardinia.
The famous island of La Maddalena has all kinds of beaches from shallow, calm and sandy nooks to rocky, deep and exciting waves. Here you will find paradise on earth!
S'Archittu is one of my favorites as far as uniqueness goes. It is a small beach with some amazing salt rock formations that look as if they are parallel with the sea. The biggest rock has a huge opening in the middle where surfers spend the day waiting for the water to build up behind it so they can catch the wave as it rushes through the opening and back to shore. It is truly a natural splendour!
The Spiaggia Rena di Matteu in Santa Teresa di Gallura was a bit of a surprise. There are not many tourists in this area since it is out of the way which makes it a calm spot to visit. People also don't park their boats nearby which keeps the water pristine. After swimming in the sea, my skin felt incredibly soft and my hair silky. It felt as though I had swam in clean water for the first time in my life. Amazing! We had lunch in the center of Santa Teresa di Gallura which I don't recommend. There are many tourist traps and dishes are not always worth the price you will be charged.
