Two Big Kaamatan Do on May 31

The Sabah Government-sponsored State-level Kaamatan (Harvest) Festival will be held at Hongkod Koisaan (Kadazandusun Cultural Association HQ) at Jalan Penampang, near Kota Kinabalu on May 30 and 31. This is to mark the end of a month-long celebrations which started in Beaufort on May 1st.

And yet there is another Kaamatan Festival, a big one, at Padang Merdeka, Kota Kinabalu on May 31. This one is a National-level celebrations organised by the Federal Government.

Look like there is a competition of sort this time around in the celebrations. But I assume nobody will be complaining. Given the lack of parking space at Hongkod Koisaan, the Padang Merdeka will be an alternative.

As May 31 will be the ending of this celebrations, I hope to visit both places before heading home.
